Rat Extermination
Rats can be a serious health hazard to you and your family. Let One Source Pest Control help you with your rat problem! Controlling rats on your own can be a hassle without the help of a professional rat exterminator. Though we do exterminate rats, we prefer a safer and more humane rat removal process. Baiting and trapping without harming is how we can safely remove rats from your home. This method would help you avoid the unpleasant sites and smells that poisoning or kill traps ultimately create. Removing rats from your home or business as soon as you begin spotting them is an essential step to preventing a full infestation.
Rats can create electrical problems or even house fires when they gnaw on electrical wiring. They can cause illnesses by leaving their excrement in areas that they frequent, such as in your pantry, on canned foods, on your dishes when searching for food, or even inside some of your packaged products that they can chew into. Rats are particularly terrible in that they have exceptionally powerful jaws that can gnaw through concrete and significantly damage your home. Rats can also carry other pests such as fleas, ticks, and mites.
If you're looking for information on how to remove rats on your own, we can provide you with some basic tips to help you get started. Rats have collapsible skeletons that allow them to fit through very tiny spaces - a typical rat can fit through a hole the size of a quarter.
Try to keep your home as clean as possible to deprive them of food as much as you can. Be sure to examine, clean out, and seal up the tiniest of spaces so they have fewer places to escape to. Using poisons is ill advised. Once the rats ingest the poisons and crawl away into inaccessible areas (between wall spaces, under flooring, etc) or even into corners where you might not spot them immediately, they will die and start to decay. The pests that they've been a host to will start looking for new hosts and often attach themselves to humans. These pests and the decaying bodies can become very serious health hazards that should not be taken lightly. Baiting and trapping rats would be the preferred option over exterminating rats. However, if baiting and trapping is ineffective and you decide to use more lethal traps, be sure to check your traps regularly everyday and remove and dispose of any successful trappings as soon as possible.
